Dr. Hernan Goldsztein was selected as a Top Doctor in Otolaryngology by his peers in 2017, 2018, and 2019 as featured in San Diego Magazine. Dr. Goldsztein has also been featured as “Champions for Health” in San Diego Physician Magazine because of his volunteer work with patients in Project Access San Diego.
Dr. Hernan Goldsztein is now a full partner with Pacific ENT Medical Group, Inc.
Dr. Goldsztein is a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon and has extensive training in Neuro-otology and Skull Base Surgery. He graduated Magna cum Laude from medical school at the University of Buenos Aires and completed clinical research fellowships at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. His residency training at the University of Maryland, was followed by a clinical and surgical fellowship in Otology & Neurotology at the California Ear Institute.
Since joining Pacific ENT Medical group in 2015, he has been busy treating patients with disorders of hearing & balance. He performs surgery to restore hearing including ear surgery to restore the hearing bones, cochlear implants and bone implanted hearing aids. He oversees Pacific ENT audiology services which provides comprehensive hearing evaluations and hearing aids.
Dr. Goldsztein believes in evidence-based medicine, and that physicians and patients, working together will make the best decisions.
During Dr. Goldsztein’ s training, he provided medical care to patients in Cambodia and Peru. These services earned him the nomination for the Dean’s Community Service Award at Harvard Medical School. In 2009, he received the American Academy of Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery’s (AAO/H&NS) Resident Humanitarian Travel Grant. In 2011 he earned the Resident Leadership Grant from the AAO/H&NS, and in 2012 he was awarded the Fellow Leadership Grant from AAO/H&NS. Dr. Goldsztein was also awarded the 2016 San Diego County Medical Society Foundation Health Hero Award. Dr. Goldsztein has received numerous other honors and awards, and currently, he serves as a volunteer physician-surgeon with local and international humanitarian associations. He is a past chair of the American Academy of Otolaryngology’s Panamerican Society.
He is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospitals in La Jolla and Encinitas, University Ambulatory Surgery Center, Radys Children’s Hospital, and Sharp Hospital.
He is married and has 2 daughters. He enjoys football (soccer) and for the past several years has represented Team USA as a player for the World Medical Soccer Championship.
